Roberto Cavalli Pre Fall 2012

For the most part, I was a bit unimpressed with some of the pre-fall 2012 collections. Naturally Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Giambattista Valli, and Alexander McQueen hit the mark but after that, I felt as if I was viewing redundancies in every collection. The color palettes all seemed to emulate a muted 1970s inspiration with a heavy dose of brown. I'm not against brown in any way, I'm just not for it either. I was happy to see Roberto Cavalli doing something refreshing with his collection. It had sequins, trendy high necklines, leather, and ostrich feathers- all made to look disturbingly chic. I'm a big fan of the shiny leather gloves and hope to find a pair of those somewhere for next fall. It seems eerie to be thinking of next fall when it seems this one just ended only moments ago. Nonetheless, next fall is sure to be show stopping if a leaf is taken from Cavalli's book.
