Roberto Cavalli Pre Fall 2012

For the most part, I was a bit unimpressed with some of the pre-fall 2012 collections. Naturally Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Giambattista Valli, and Alexander McQueen hit the mark but after that, I felt as if I was viewing redundancies in every collection. The color palettes all seemed to emulate a muted 1970s inspiration with a heavy dose of brown. I'm not against brown in any way, I'm just not for it either. I was happy to see Roberto Cavalli doing something refreshing with his collection. It had sequins, trendy high necklines, leather, and ostrich feathers- all made to look disturbingly chic. I'm a big fan of the shiny leather gloves and hope to find a pair of those somewhere for next fall. It seems eerie to be thinking of next fall when it seems this one just ended only moments ago. Nonetheless, next fall is sure to be show stopping if a leaf is taken from Cavalli's book.

Rooney Mara looks super dazed on the cover of Dazed and Confused

And I like it.

Plus she's wearing a headpiece from McQueen s/s 2012. Can a girl any get flyer? No.

New York for Fashion Week

So unbelievably excited to be going to New York for Fashion Week! Will be posted lots about all the magic that happens there. But the biggest question is: What on earth am I going to wear?

Slit slut

Seriously craving a high slit skirt and this glorious and flowing one from Planet Blue would certainly fit the bill. Perhaps I'll get crafty this weekend and see if I can slit something up??

Chanel Pre Fall 2012 Beauty

If you haven't checked out Chanel's devastatingly beautiful Pre-Fall collection, do so immediately! The collection, based upon Bombay inspirations, featured classic Chanel garments mixed in with Bombay glamor. I love how Chanel manages to keep a strong house aesthetic through such a divergent inspiration source as Bombay. One of my favorite parts of the collection was the styling of the models. This was definitely no ordinary Chanel show as the models featured super edgy racoon rimmed eye makeup, faux dreads, and metal studded or jeweled headpieces. Only the masterminds at Chanel can make dreads look oh-so chic, and they did. I can't wait to try and do a DIY of one of those headpieces! They're absolutely stunning!

Celine bags that could hardly be called "luggage"

Tumblr is still blowing up over these really really ridiculously good looking Celine bags called the "luggage tote." So I thought I would post a few photos of them looking extra cute so we could all drool over them together. You're welcome.

Tom Ford = Master of Cool

This is the first time I've ever seen a part of Oprah's foray into her own (pun) network and it's AMAZEBALLS. This is from the series Visonaries: Inside the Creative Mind. In this excerpt Tom Ford shows how smart and loveably betchy he can be. I love him talking about being a hilariously particular child. Watch and enjoy! I can't wait to find the rest of the series to watch!

British Fashion Awards

Recently been catching up on the designer parties and decided to showcase my favorite looks from whos who at the British Fashion Awards. Everyone looks incredibly glamorous but my favorites are Kate Moss, Charlotte Dellal, Lara Bohinc, and Olivia Palermo. Moss wasn't getting the best reviews of her edgy Stella McCartney ensemble but I think she looks fantastic and very current. Dellal, of course harkened to her retro roots which always appeals to me; Lara Bohinc, jewelry designer went with a striking and minimal ivory number that I found so delicious; And Olivia Palermo stunned in a to-die-for feathered Matthew Williamson number. Not a bad crowd!
